The Art Of Defensive Boxing

The Art of Defensive Boxing
This video is dedicated to showing the aspects of a good defence; a huge part of being able to box is being able to defend. Without defence you will have no attack. Defence in boxing involves foot movement, head movement, elbows by your side protecting body shots, and a solid guard protecting your chin. This video includes some of the best athletes boxing has ever seen; even some of the most explosive fighters boxing has ever seen had to have top notch defence, such as Mike Tyson. Both Roy Jones Jr and Floyd Mayweather hold outstanding records of not being hit by one single punch throughout the full duration of a round! That shows immaculate defence skills. It will also shock you to know that Mayweather has never hit the canvas of a boxing ring in his Professional boxing career! But he nearly did twice against former world champion Shane Mosley in May.

I have lost two stone in 6 weeks!!

Posted on Thursday, August 12th, 2010

I was recomended to elite via a friend as I wanted to get fit and try something i have always wanted to do. I was visiting a gym 3 times a week with no actual goal or direction, i found i was putting weight on and getting no muscular definition. I was encouraged to come and take a look round and use the free lesson i was offered. after the first session i was hooked and signed up their and then. I found the gym had a friendly atmosphere. I found that the coaches have a very good knowledge of fitness and nutrition as well as boxing, i asked what my personal goal was and they assissted me in completing this.

I joined elite about 4 months ago to loose weight and gain fitness which i acheived as I lost 2 stone in the first 6-8 weeks aswell as getting muscular definition. Once my fitness was at a reasonable level i was able to really enjoy learning a sport i have grown up watching. As there is only around 6 people per lesson you feel that you are really getting one to one focus from the trainer which motivates you even more. You undertake so many different excersises the lessons dont get boring as you do so many different things. I was given help in acheving my goals as the trainers provided me with a diet plan which helped me shed weight effectivley over a period of time therefore keeping the weight off.

Whilst training you are pushed beyond your limits and you really do feel the benefit of pushing your self through the pain barrier. You soon really reap the benefits and notice the changes in your body!

I really can not stress the advantages of joining Elite, you will not be disapointed! There are all ages and all levels of fitness in the gym yet you are worked with to reach your goal. Whatever your aim is the trainers will work with you and you will achieve it!

You really have to take advantage of the first free lesson you will not regret it!!

Royal Marines Testimonial

AARON MOON

I am a serving member of the Royal Marine Commandos and was unfortunately injured whilst on active service in Afghanistan. I was told there is a chance of never walking again but through determination a year later I was back on my feet. Still not walking brilliantly and still facing the possibility of never being able to run again I was told I would be able to ride a bike. When I heard this I decided I would like to give something back for those who like me get seriously injured. A charity bike ride was the only way to go and decided it would be 125 miles from Gretna Green back to Bolton. However still suffering from pain and finding it hard to find motivation to train the guys at Elite stepped in and offered to train me to help build my fitness not only for my bike ride but to help aid in my rehabilitation. From day one when I started training at elite I was made to feel very welcome and the adapted all my training to suit me with my injuries never pushing me to do something that may hurt but always pushing me to get fitter. The training is fun and progressive and definitely enjoyable.

Now 125 miles and few pains and aches later I have managed to complete the bike ride all thanks to the fitness the guys at elite helped me to gain. All I can really add to that is great place to train with the best bunch of lads to train you around thanks elite
