After a recent win defending his British Masters light-middleweight title, Elite Boxing coach Alex Matvienko is now ranked 7th in the UK in the Light-Middleweight division. Matvienko’s last fight was held at the Reebok stadium, and was against seasoned boxer Geraint Harvey. Harvey retired at the end of round 5 after suffering damage to his rib, meaning he was in no fit state to continue fighting. This takes Matvienko’s record to 15 wins, 1 loss and 3 draws with five of the wins coming by stoppage.

I used to go to the gym on a regular basis and found it very boring with little effects. Then I found out about elite and decided to go for a trial lesson and halfway through I realised how unfit I was. I have been going to elite for nearly two months now and I have increased my fitness and lost a consoderable amount of weight. The trainers are always giving advice and support about many things and the people who train are also helpful. I would advise people to try elite even if they are a complete novice like me and have no experience what-so-ever.
