“49 yrs old,My results were fantastic! I was told i have the lung capacity of a 25-30 yr old”

Posted on Wednesday, February 29th, 2012

I have been training at Elite Thai Boxing in Bolton for around 10 years now and from the very first lesson i was made to feel welcome and relaxed.Boxing and Thai boxing Gyms can be intimidating places when you go to them but Elite Thai Boxing is so different, very friendly coaches and members to train along side and no ego’s.The lessons are tailor made to improve your fitness and stamina,To lose weight and of course to learn how to Thai box and box.The skills the coaches have gathered are through years of experience and teaching and attending Thai Boxing seminars and watching fights. On top all this they all have extensive knowledge of diet and nutrition. The coaches always cater and listen to what you want to work on.The training is maximised and you always get encouragement.

The gym has lots of equipment and lessons are always fresh and new, working on technique as well as fitness and stamina and strength work. The unique thing about Elite Thai Boxing is the very small classes mean you get quality training and mistakes are rectified, you do not get lost “in the crowd” it is personnel training for a fraction of normal costs! They were the first to operate this way and it’s easy to book lessons on a computerised system.

My own story is a great successful one through Elite Thai Boxing,I came through the door overweight and unfit and had never heard of thai boxing,But one free lesson i was hooked! Over the years my weight has come down and my body shape has changed.I have improved vastly over the years in my thai boxing skills and have competed in several interclub bouts.I recently went for my asthma and general health check at my doctors as i am just short of 49 yrs old,My results were fantastic! I was told i have the lung capacity of a 25-30 yr old and my blood pressure is outstanding. The training works!!

I have tried out other thai boxing gyms in and around the area and none operate to the top level or system Elite have in place,You are not “lost” in a big class and you receive the instruction directly. Also,You are not pressured into a “uniform” like some gyms have. They have, gloves,T.shirts, shorts and other equipment at good prices if you require anything.

Anybody who is thinking of joining this gym,do it!  I am proof age is a number and everybody can join up and learn it. What you waiting for?

“Chris Jenkinson’s fight postponed until March 11th”

Posted on Tuesday, February 21st, 2012

Due to unforeseen circumstances Chris’s next bout has been changed from the 24th of February and put back two weeks this is because Giuseppi Lauri who was boxing in the main event has the flu.

This is unfortunate but cannot be helped obviously Chris is upset about this as he’s been looking sharp and fit in the gym, if anybody cannot make the new date then refunds can be arranged but we would hope you can still come and support a local boxer who is sure to be in another high action fight!!!

This is more bad luck for Chris who has had fights pull out on him in the past and shows cancelled previous but he has shown he is a true professional and is guaranteed to be in top shape for the new date!”

“Female Thai Boxer Testimonial”

Posted on Saturday, February 18th, 2012

I have trained at Elite Thai Boxing for 2 years now, before i trained here i trained in Thailand for 3 years, when i first came back i really struggled to find somewhere to train i went to many different gyms all over the North West but never found anywhere that i felt comfortable or that matched my training in Thailand. After 4 months of searching i stumbled across Elite Thai Boxing in Bolton and since walking through the door and my first lesson with Sean Fogg i have never looked back.
With every session at Elite Thai Boxing you learn something new, classes are always different and with the being so small everybody’s needs are catered for no matter what level your at.  As i have trained with some of the best Thai fighters/trainers in Thailand, i never thought i would find someone in England that would match this let alone go beyond, i can honestly say Sean Fogg is one of the best, if not the best trainer i have ever trained with. What i like most about Sean as a coach is his ability to watch other fighters, study them and the devise some sneaky techniques in how to beat them, these never cease to amaze me and is the true thai way of teaching.

Since training at Elite Thai Boxing i have had 2 fights, and i can honestly say i have felt stronger and fitter in those 2 fights than i ever did in my 8 fights in Thailand. I put this down to Sean incorporating current training methods for example Strength and Conditioning with the traditional Thai way of teaching!

I just want to say a big Thank you to Sean Fogg and Elite Thai Boxing as i don’t know where i would be without them, and i hope to have many years of successful fighting from this gym!

“Testimonial from School Teacher”

Posted on Thursday, February 16th, 2012

I joined Elite Boxing in Bolton about 5 months ago after I became concerned about my lack of physical activity and increasing weight.

I’ve always been a boxing fan and used to go to a boxing gym when I was younger.

However, Elite Boxing is nothing like any boxing gym I’ve encountered previously.  For a start, Elite is a boxing and muay thai school, as opposed to a gym where you are often left to your own devices.  At Elite you attend classes which are led by a coach from beginning to end.

Being a teacher myself I can appreciate quality tuition, and at Elite it is of the highest order.  All the coaches are qualified and very knowledgeable, not only in their own disciplines of boxing or muay thai but also in sports science.  What this means for the student is that the coach is able to not only explain how to do the activities clearly but why you are doing them and how they will help to build your strength, fitness and technique.  From my own point of view, this has really helped me to understand the level of skill, fitness and strength required to box well and has given me the motivation to work hard to achieve that level.

The atmosphere at Elite is friendly and welcoming.  I was especially struck that all the coaches were able to remember my name from only my second or third session.  And this isn’t particular to me: every single member of the gym is referred to by their name.  Considering the number of people who attend the gym this is no mean feat and must surely require considerable effort on the part of the coaches.

Elite is a world away from traditional gyms where you are fed a constant diet of bag work, press-ups and sit-ups.  At Elite Boxing the coaches have a huge number of activities in their arsenal for developing fitness, strength and technique, and no two lessons are ever the same.

The classes are organised so that you train with others of a similar fitness and skill level to yourself.  This means that the coaches are able to push every single member of each class to their limit.

So don’t be mistaken – at Elite you will have to work hard!

But the rewards for this are that you will become fitter, stronger and more confident in your physical abilities.  I for one feel emphatically that these qualities are worth working hard to achieve, and you won’t find a better place to achieve them than at Elite.

“Testimonial from 38 yr old Business Director”

Posted on Wednesday, February 8th, 2012

I’m a 38 year old company director, I work long hours and have a young family I want to spend time with, after I have finished at the office I like to come home and see my family. No other gym offers what Elite can provide, I train in the morning at 7am, there are no more than 6 members per class so you are guaranteed to be shown the correct technique, each instructor ensures that you are motivated and help to achieve goals, after the morning session I use their showers and leave for work feeling completely refreshed and invigorated!

I have been a member of various gyms and boxing clubs, none come close to Elite, the maximum of 6 per class ensures that you are not simply lost at the back of the class; the private sessions make a huge impact on physical development. The instructors know how to expertly push you just enough so that when you leave you know you have had a productive hour, in the past I have paid gym memberships and all I have achieved is I have watched a bit of MTV on the treadmill then gone for a sauna!

The camaraderie with the other members is great, since joining I consider many of the other members good friends, we have a laugh, try to motivate each other and enjoy having a beer when we meet up at the regular boxing shows that are organised!

I cannot recommend Elite enough, their lessons are superb, the motivation to succeed is excellent, and their lesson times are convenient and all conducted in a friendly atmosphere.

“Elite Boxing helps out local school”

Posted on Monday, February 6th, 2012

We are happy to announce that we will be working with local Bolton school Smithils, this has been arranged by one of the teachers at Smithils who trains at the gym. The first session we ran was Friday 3rd of February and with the help of Barry Edwards who owns Extreme strength and conditioning in Bolton and also does some strength training with the Elite’s fighters. We ran an hour and a half session with some of the students from the school.

This was a great success with the kids learning some boxing skills and really putting the effort in also with Barrys expertise in training athletes and fighters the session ran really smoothly and hopefully this will become a regular session.

It was good to see the kids enjoying the sessions and was great to help out a local Bolton school.

If there are any schools or services in Bolton out there that are looking to get there kids into something like this please contact for more information.
