Elite’s McGuinness Marching Towards Title Triumph
Elite Boxing Gym’s hard-hitting Greg McGuinness will challenge for the super-featherweight Central Area title on Saturday, April 27th in Manchester.
With his fan-friendly, old-school style in the ring, McGuinness has rallied to a flawless 6-0 record so far since turning professional back in 2019.
A product of our thriving amateur team, Halliwell ABC, and known locally as ‘The Bolton Brawler’, he will take on current champion, Lewis Wood, in a scheduled 10 rounds at The Bowlers Exhibition Centre.
After returning from a frustrating lay-off last year, McGuinness made his long-anticipated ring return in Bolton with a dominant decision victory over tough Colombian, Joshua Ocampo, before Christmas.
Initially, the fight was set for February 17th, but an injury to the current title holder forced a rescheduled date. Which only gave McGuinness even more time to prepare for this highly-awaited title showdown.
So, next up, following six straight wins, including a devastating first-round knockout on his debut, he steps up to battle for title honours.
“This is my opportunity and I’m going to take full advantage of it,” McGuinness stated during his training preparations for this exciting title charge.
“Victory is all that matters and I’ll do all that it takes to secure it. This fight couldn't have come at a better time and I believe it’s just my destiny.”
A relentless fighter when it comes to his approach in the squared-circle as well as his intense training regime and boxing history film studies, McGuinness will look to elevate his already promising career with a break-out triumph in his next outing.
Tickets are available for the massive title fight night on April 27th now from McGuinness himself and at Elite Boxing Gym.
Anyone who would like to come and show their support for another local talent pushing for a title triumph on home soil, then please get in touch as soon as possible.
Sponsorship is also still available for McGuinness ahead of his biggest career fight to date.
